About GCCI Business Women Wing
Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Business Women Committee was inaugurated on 20th July, 1985 by the august hand of Smt. Sobha Nehru, wife of Shri B.K. Nehru, H.E. the then Governor of Gujarat. Since its inception, the Business Women Committee has undertaken numerous activities focusing on areas of development for women and empowerment of women in the current era of competition. The Business Women Committee has made active efforts for bringing women in the mainstream of development of the economy and helped the lady entrepreneurs in their endeavor.
The Business Women Committee has now expanded its operations and scope of work and has been declared and structured as a separate Business Women Wing of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Objectives
To promote the social, cultural and educational interests of Women entrepreneurs and provide encouragement to new and existing Women entrepreneurs to become self-sufficient.
To keep acquainted with and take active interest in the overall socio-economic development in Gujarat and the country by women.
To provide a common platform to women on economic, social, cultural and educational subjects and pursue their problems affecting trade and industry as also profession with the authorities concerned.
Acknowledge Women entrepreneurs through Awards/Certificates to recognize excellence in their field.
To encourage and develop friendly feeling and unanimity among the member on all subjects connected with the common good of the Business Community.
To encourage new women entrepreneurs to become self sufficient by entering into business and give a higher platform for women already in business.
To organize Seminars, Conferences, Exhibitions, Overseas Delegations, Open House Discussions and Expert’s Talks, Industrial visits, Training Programmes etc. on the subjects relating to women and their economic betterment.
To effectively help to project the image of the women entrepreneurs in the civic, social, economic and other spheres.
To promote the social, economical, cultural and educational interests of women entrepreneurs.
To take active interest in the overall socio-economic development of Gujarat and the nation.
To pursue problems pertaining to trade and industry with the authorities concerned.
