To sustain the rapid growth of industry in the state, a sound education base is a sine qua non. The rapid developments in technology call for a high quality education base that can supply the necessary quality manpower that would enable the enterprises in the state to acquire latest technology and successfully compete in global competition. With rapid expansion of the industries, the need for skilled manpower keeps on increasing. The solution to this need lies in providing quality education and training. Keeping this objective in mind, the Education Working Committee has been constituted for the first time in the year 2011. The Committee seeks to promote quality education policy and conducting public awareness programs for the same. It also offers advisory service for entrepreneurs in education. It proposes to adopt, support and nurture Government schools and Initiate program for school fees for weaker sections as CSR initiative. In order to improve the quality of education imparted, the committee will conduct teacher's training programs and vocational training programs in affiliation with associated bodies. The Committee was constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Yogesh D Shridhar. Shri Prakash Bhagwati, Senior Vice President is the GCCI office-bearer in charge. The other members of the Committee are yet to be selected
Some of the major proposed activities of the committee include starting an Education Help Desk to guide students, initiating Teacher Excellence Awards to promote excellence in teaching and developing a rating system for schools, colleges and Institutions. |
