Committee Events
Gujarat has recently celebrated “Swarnim Gujarat”, completion of 50 years since its formation. In these five decades, the State of Gujarat has taken tremendous strides and is now at the fastest growing state in the country with the best development model that has received accolades from all over the world. In addition to the government, the GCCI and its members have played a significant role in this progress of which every Gujarati can be justifiably proud of. This progress is not confined to just trade and industry but other fields as well. In order to highlight this and promote Gujarat, the Garvi Gujarat samiti (the Pride of Gujarat Committee) has been constituted this year. Its objective are promoting and popularizing the state of Gujarat, in areas such as investment opportunity, tourism destination, Gujarati literature, Gujarati cuisine and Gujarati films. The Committee organizes seminars, conferences, cultural programs and festivals for promotion of brand Gujarat across the country and abroad. The Committee was constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Samir Patel. Shri Mahendra Patel, President is the GCCI office-bearer in charge.

The important activities conducted recently by the committee include the Interactive Session cum luncheon meeting with Ambassadors and High Commissioners of 16 countries. The Committee has decided to conduct a book Reading program every month. It also proposes to keep one stall of GCCI at Pravasi Bhartiya Divas with Indext B to be held at Jaipur on January 7, 8, & 9th. Some of the major proposed events include Convention of all apex Chambers of India, a Gujarati Film Festival and participation in the Kutch Rannotsav.
