China (Guangdong)-India (Gujarat) Economic and Trade Co operation conference is grandly hosted by People’s Government of Guangdong Province of China, co-organized by Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and Industrial Extension Bureau of Gujarat. Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry was the Supporter of the conference.

Governor of Guangdong Province, Mr. ZHU Xiaodan has led a Guangdong delegation including more than 50 companies and chambers of commerce to attend the conference.

In the conference, First Secretary of Gujarat Mr. G R Aloria and Ambassador of China in India Mr. LE Yuecheng has delivered the speech respectively. The Governor Mr. ZHU Xiaodan has delivered the eloquent keynote speech. His excellency pointed out that Gujarat is the bridgehead of India as it is one of the regions in India with the highest degree in industrialization and great development potential. Gujarat has been playing an important role in Indian economic and social development.

On 17th September last year, with the joint witness of President Mr. XI Jinping and Prime Minister Mr. Modi, Guangdong and Gujarat signed a friendly agreement to forge the first sister province relationship between the two countries which has turned a new page for bilateral cooperation. Both states should focus on following points to strengthen the cooperation

1. Jointly promote the construction of 21st Century Maritime Silk Road
2. Enlarge bilateral cooperation on trade and investment
3. Consolidate cooperation on infrastructure constructions like power, transportation and so on
4. Expand the cooperation in automobile, pharmaceuticals and ICT sectors
5. Deepen tourism cooperation

A batch of investment and trade projects had been signed on site. During the Conference, more than 300 participants from Guangdong and India attended B2B and workshops on pharmaceuticals, ICT and infrastructure constructions. The conference would usher in more business opportunities and become a landmark for new development between Gujarat and Guangdong, and India and China as well.
